Favorite thing about emergency medicine: I love the mystery of not knowing what you’ll see day to day. Team aspect. The most diverse patient population of any specialty.
Best day off activities: Hiking, swimming, BBQing, surfing, snowboarding, ukulele
Why did you choose Kaweah? Location is 2-3hrs from everything, perfect for weekend warriors. A 3 year program with lots of residents (>30 EM residents) was also very appealing. We see very sick–often critically ill–patients. I speak Spanish everyday at work, which is great for anyone trying to learn or maintain their fluency. We span a large catchment for traumas. Low cost of living, no traffic, and abundant free parking are the cherries on top.
Best place you’ve ever traveled: Safari through Tanzania with my immediate family, my best friend, and his immediate family.
Random fact about you:Â I love many types of music, but one of my favorite genres is hard rock/metal covers of pop songs
