Favorite thing about emergency medicine: The variety of pathology, knowing a little bit about everything, the chance to save lives every day
Why Kaweah for residency: In addition to all the usual reasons – cool residents, high volume/acuity, close to awesome parks, I feel like the program leaders and admin put a lot of time and effort into making the program the very best it can be
Favorite day-off activities: Backpacking, hiking, live music, trying new restaurants
Previous life before medicine: Several years working in the pharmaceutical industry, then owned a massage therapy business for several more yearsÂ
Future goals or dreams: Don’t know yet! Fellowship? Locums? Hopefully traveling and exploring new places
Best place you’ve traveled: Probably Barrancas del Cobre in Mexico or Olympic National Park
Best meal you’ve eaten: I spent 6 weeks in Italy in college and culinarily speaking will never be the same
Favorite book: The Stand by Stephen King
