Favorite thing about emergency medicine: (1) Being able to treat patients of all ages and backgrounds
(2) Seeing a diverse range of medical conditions and pathology, both acute and chronic
(3) Using my medical knowledge of and continuing to learn about every single body system
(4) Being able to teach and address patients on their immediate and long-term health goals and concerns
(5) Using a compassion-based, social justice-focused, and patient-centered approach to take care of patients every single day
Why Kaweah for residency: The broad range of pathology, the high patient volumes, the focus on caring for underserved communities – this is everything I want in a training program for Emergency Medicine
Favorite day-off activities: Going to the gym, chilling at coffee shops, watching TV shows/movies, playing video games, doing escape rooms
Previous life before medicine: Nope, I was a very traditional applicant and applied right after graduating from undergrad
