Favorite thing about emergency medicine: I love the uncertainty and craziness in the ED. I get very bored quickly, so I enjoy going to work and not knowing what to expect. It makes the shift so much more fun not knowing what is coming through the door.
Why Kaweah for residency: I chose Kaweah Delta because it offers such a well rounded education. Not only is it a trauma center, you also take care of cardiac and stroke patients and do a lot of orthopedic procedures. I know that by the time I graduate, I will be well versed in procedures which you don’t get at a lot of other programs.
Favorite day-off activities:Â I love to take my dogs to the lake to swim. My golden retriever would live in the water if he had a choice. I also love to cook and eat.
Future goals and dreams:Â I very much value community, so in the future I hope to work for a community hospital. My father is an EM physician, so it has always been a dream of mine to work a shift with him.
Best place you’ve traveled: Very hard to pick one place, I love to travel and have been fortunate to travel to many countries. Probably Iceland or Costa Rica or Israel or Greece. I truly can’t pick one.Â
Best meal you’ve eaten: Fresh octopus in Greece.
