Class of 2023

Chase Thorson, MD
Hometown: Sherwood, OR
Undergraduate school: Gonzaga University
Undergraduate major: B.S. Biological Sciences with minor in clinical research; B.A. in French Language and Philosophy
Medical school: Loyola Stritch School of Medicine
Favorite thing about emergency medicine: The diversity of people and pathology combined with the acuity of care and improvisation. I always wanted to be able to do a little bit of everything and I think Emergency Medicine satisfies that
Why Kaweah for residency: Being out West again was nice, and I genuinely think the training here is top-notch. I enjoy the expectation to be able to treat anyone that comes in, without having to consult a specialist in the middle of the night.
Favorite day-off activities: Hanging out with my dog and reading a book
Previous life before medicine: I used to live in France prior to medical school
Future goals and dreams: Be good
Best place you’ve traveled: Oslo
Favorite book: Tough call, but I’m a big fan of Catch-22. After that, maybe Independent People by Haldor Laxness.
Spirit Animal: My dog? If not, then definitely a tiger.
