Favorite thing about emergency medicine: No other specialty in medicine sees the variety or acuity of patients that we see. I enjoy seeing the wide variety of patients and pathologies that come into the emergency room. I like the fast-paced work, regular procedural opportunities, and frequent instant gratification of helping someone with acute medical problems. Emergency medicine is a huge field with a wide variety of practice opportunities.
Best day off activities:Â Sequoias, beach, daily naps
Special interests within emergency medicine:Â EMS, rural EM, wilderness EM
Future goals/dreams: I want to be active in my kids’ lives, do a little bit of traveling, and possibly get into some hobby farming and real estate investing
Random fact about yourself: I won over a date’s heart by giving her constipated kitten a suppository. The date and I just celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary
