Dr. Caroline Schrodt, MD PGY-3, has been accepted as a fellow in the CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service, beginning July 2019. CDC EIS officers are a diverse group of health professionals including physicians, veterinarians, allied health professionals, and doctorate-level scientists who are deployed to investigate public health outbreaks worldwide. The EIS fellowship is a 2-year commitment and each class is chosen among a highly-competitive group of applicants.
Dr. Schrodt completed a Masters of Science in Public Health prior to attending medical school, which confirmed her passion
for epidemiology and her desire to use her medical training on the front lines of disease outbreaks. While in residency, she used her elective time to rotate with the Tulare County Department of Public Health.
Along with her public health interests, she is involved in the evolving area of wellness among residents and medical professionals, and was selected to the EMRA Wellness mini-fellowship for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Congratulations to Dr. Schrodt for this accomplishment!
